D7069 Glasshouse Lane - Kenilworth School - Scheme Complete October 2023

Warwick District Council approved plans to relocate Kenilworth School at Leyes Lane and the Sixth Form at Rouncil Lane to a new location at Southcrest Farm, Glasshouse Lane, as detailed on the Kenilworth School website.

The planning application for the demolition of Southcrest Farm and construction of a new school and Sixth Form College was approved by Warwick District Council on 19 December 2019.

The school is being delivered on behalf of Kenilworth Multi Academy Trust (KMAT) working in partnership with Warwick District Council by Morgan Sindall Construction.

The project will see Kenilworth School and Sixth Form relocated from its two existing sites to a new facility at Southcrest Farm, Glasshouse Lane in Kenilworth.

The new three-storey campus will offer places to 2,200 students.

The build programme is due to be complete in the summer of 2023, with the school opening to existing and new students in September 2023.

Overview

Planning permission has been granted under Planning Application  Reference: W/19/0933 for 150 New Homes/Dwellings (Class C3).

A new vehicular access from Birmingham Road has been approved as part of the planning application. The temporary vehicular access will be in place for sales and construction traffic from Birmingham Road in association with the works on the north side of Birmingham Road Hatton for Taylor Wimpey in accordance with the application submitted on 29 May 2019.

One or more of the conditions of this permission requires works to be carried out within the limits of the public highway. The developer must enter into a Highway Works Agreement made under the provisions of Section 278 of the Highways Act 1980 for the purposes of completing the works.
