Update 6th October 2026
Compulsory Purchase Order and Side Road Orders
In light of the objections raised to date, and to allow discussions a reasonable opportunity to proceed, the objection period is being extended to 29th October 2026. Following that date the County Council will issue a substantive response to all objectors by 20th November 2026.
We note that the Department for Transport has indicated that it will write separately to existing objectors clarifying that they do not need to submit their objection again, unless there are additional points which they wish to raise which were not included in their initial objection.
Please find below copies of the updated Newspaper Notice and SRO Notice which note the extended objection period:

Any objection to the order must be made in writing to the Department for Transport, Transport Infrastructure Planning Casework Unit, PO Box 1393, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE99 5FQ or by email to NATIONALCASEWORK@dft.gov.uk before Thursday 29th October 2026 and should state the title of the order, the grounds of objection and the objector's address and interests in the land.

Transforming Nuneaton Highways – Public Orders
As part of the ongoing development of the Transforming Nuneaton Project, Warwickshire County Council has now submitted a Compulsory Purchase Order (CPO) to the Secretary of State with relation to the purchase of several parcels of land within Nuneaton.
Side Road Orders (SRO) have also been submitted, covering Private Means of Access to be Stopped Up, Highway to be Stopped Up, and New Means of Access.
