Charity shop permits for disposal of household waste

Registered charities operating a charity shop may apply for an annual vehicle permit to dispose of household waste free of charge at a nominated recycling centre.

The permit entitles the organisation to take one load per month to the named weighbridge recycling centre in a permitted vehicle.

Only waste arising from the charity shop selling donated goods originating from a domestic property is classed as household waste. Waste from other premises occupied by a charity, for example, headquarters and offices, is classed as commercial waste and is subject to the charges for drop-off services for commercial and chargeable domestic waste

The full terms and conditions of charity vehicle permits will be confirmed during the application process.
