To ensure the safety of riders and spectators, Warwickshire County Council has issued a Special Events Order affecting several roads across the county. This includes full road closures, rolling road closures and the imposing of no waiting or loading zones.

To help you plan your visit, take a look at the details of the route, and the times that we expect the cyclists to pass by near you.

On the day

There’s nothing quite like the thrill of watching the Lloyds Tour of Britain up close, and we’d love to see you lining the route. The riders pass by very fast, so to help everyone enjoy the day safely, there’s a few things to note:

There will be an advance vehicle 15 minutes ahead of the race, keeping you updated with what is happening, including when you can expect the race to pass through.
The race itself is escorted along the route by trained police officers and escort motorcyclists. If you’re asked to stop by an officer, please listen carefully and obey their instructions.
Stay back away from the edge of the road and remember that turning your back on the race is never a good idea – please always face the ongoing riders and race convoy.
Keep flags, objects and photography equipment out of the road, and any animals on a short lead, well away from the roadside.

Park & Ride for Burton Dassett Hills Country Park

Road closures on the day mean there will be no vehicle access to Burton Dassett Hills, so if you want the best views of the dramatic finish, then please use our Park & Ride service. Based at the British Motor Museum in Gaydon, this will start at 10am with the last departure to the country park at 1.20pm. Return journeys will start around 4pm. Cost of the Park & Ride is £2 per vehicle and booking is essential. Book your place online.

Rolling road closures

A rolling road closure will be enforced throughout the day. This means roads on and around the race route will be closed for the short period in which it takes the race to pass by – usually about 10 to 15 minutes around the estimated time of arrival and indicated by police escort vehicles.

No waiting or loading zones

Parking restrictions will be in place on the following roads, effective from the night before (4 September) until the event has completed. Areas where parking is restricted are lined with yellow “no waiting” cones in the week leading up to the race. Please don’t park on the route on race day – if necessary, vehicles will be removed.
