Case studies

Community Pantries

In partnership with Feed the Hungry UK, Community Pantries have been piloted in the County across Camp Hill, Lillington and New Arley. These pantries allow members to receive good quality food, a dignified shopping experience and 'wrap-around' family support for a £5 per visit subscription for up to six months. Nearly 5,000 pantry visits have been made by 650 residents with almost 200 residents no longer requiring food support. Family Information Support have also been on hand to offer intervention and Citizens Advice have supported pantry members with debt advice and writing off close to £45,000 across the three locations. See how members have benefitted personally.

Kenilworth Repair Café

Through Warwickshire’s Green Shoots Community Fund, Fund, Kenilworth Repair Café, has been supported in its service of repairing clothes, toys, furniture, electrical appliances, bicycles and other items. The repair café is a not-for-profit community event, created for neighbours by neighbours that aims to avoid waste and save money. Similar Repair Cafés have reported around 80% of all repairs are electronic goods that would otherwise have been discarded or replaced.

Lillington East Pilot

Lillington East has been selected as a Ground Breaker pilot. Current actions are centring around community conversations with over 60 hours of conversations across individuals, groups and professionals.
