We follow the Department For Education (DFE) recommended appeals process.

If your child is of compulsory school age and you have been refused free transport assistance then you are entitled to appeal the decision on the basis of:

  • the transport arrangements offered
  • entitlement
  • distance
  • route safety
  • exceptional circumstances

You must submit your appeal within 20 working days of your application being refused. You can submit an appeal by using the online appeals form.

Any appeals which are for any other reason, or those which are late, will be refused.

Once submitted, your appeal will be responded to within 20 working days.
