On-call fire fighters are integral part of our Fire and Rescue Service and give emergency cover to the rural communities of Warwickshire. Although not based on fire stations, they usually live or work in their local community and carry a pager, so when they get the call, they are ready to respond to any emergency.
We have 5 on-call fire stations across the county, these are:
- Polesworth
- Southam
- Wellesbourne
- Henley
- Bidford
On-call firefighters must live or work within five minutes of one of our on-call fire stations.
The role involves an agreed number of hours of flexible night-time on-call cover between the hours of 19:00 – 07:00 hrs, where you must be available to attend emergencies via an alerter.
Applications are now open for on-call firefighters at four of our stations:
- Polesworth
- Southam
- Wellesbourne
- Henley
