The aim of the Blue Badge Scheme is to help people with severe mobility problems caused by visible and non-visible (hidden) disabilities to park closer to their destination. Warwickshire County Council have a Blue Badge Team who administer the Blue Badge Scheme on behalf of the Department of Transport. To apply please click on the 'Apply or Renew Online' link on page 3 to complete a form on the GOV.UK website.
In order to qualify for a badge you must be permanently and substantially disabled and provide evidence of this. You can check on the Eligibility page to see if you can qualify to get a Blue Badge.
You can apply for a Blue Badge for yourself or on behalf of another person, please put the application in the name of the person needing a Blue Badge. The Badge holder may use it in any vehicle, but the trip must be for the benefit of the badge holder only, whether they are a driver or passenger.
A Blue Badge is valid for a maximum of three years. There is a £10 charge when applying for a Blue Badge payable by credit or debit card and if you are not eligible, you will be refunded.
We aim to process applications as quickly as possible, but please allow up to twelve weeks for processing. This includes re-applications. You can speed this process up by ensuring you supply all the correct documentation with your initial application. Please ensure your documents are in date (see guidance notes) and legible.
