If bordering services are looking at commissioning similar data-led reports with the scope to changing the allocation of their resources, has the drop in their possible over the border help been taken into consideration within the data gathering?
The proposed model is based on utilisation of WFRS resources. Any existing arrangements with neighbouring fire and rescue services will remain. Should neighbouring services be considering similar resource reviews, they too would be required to consult with other fire and rescue services to understand the impact. As part of the public consultation, WFRS has met with all neighbouring fire and rescue services.
Are over-the-border services happy to take on larger areas?
As part of the public consultation, WFRS has engaged with many UK fire and rescue services to provide information on the proposal and seek feedback. Other fire and rescue services are also encouraged to complete the consultation survey so that any feedback can be incorporated into the consultation analysis.
