Teenage Markets
Teenage Markets in Warwickshire
Teenage Markets is a nationally recognised initiative that’s growing rapidly across the UK. The events give young people the chance to channel their creativity and entrepreneurial spirit, while building valuable skills, confidence and real‑world experience that can open doors to future pathways.
Now part of Place4Youth – a new Community Interest Company created to help young people connect with their local places and discover routes into enterprise, skills and opportunity – Teenage Markets continue to empower the next generation of makers, creators and business owners.
Teenage Markets bring wider benefits to local communities too. They help animate town centres, attract footfall and create a vibrant atmosphere, while offering young people free stalls to showcase their talents – from handmade crafts and digital art to food, performance, fashion and more.
Warwickshire introduced the concept at the Warwickshire Towns Network Conference in 2023, and North Warwickshire was the first to trial a series of markets using UKSPF funding. These events proved highly successful, demonstrating strong local demand and real impact for young traders and communities alike.
Building on this success, Warwickshire County Council is supporting the expansion of Teenage Markets across the county. We can provide:
- Equipment and market infrastructure
- Licences and operational guidance
- Connections to the national Teenage Markets network
- Support for any place or organisation wishing to run their own event.
