Retiring from driving

We all value our independence and deciding when the right time is to stop driving is not an easy decision to make. Retiring from driving does not mean the end to independence and mobility.

As we grow older, we retire from many things, such as pastimes, sport, work, so likewise, there may come a time when we retire from driving.
It’s much better to plan to retire from driving than having to stop suddenly. This way, you can gradually trial using public transport, demand responsive transport (IndieGo), and trusted taxi companies.
There is a lot of information for mature drivers on the Older Drivers Forum website, including webinars/tips/advice, and a calculator to see how much money you could save if you stop driving.
