Monitoring

The senior leadership team should ensure that:   

  • There are systems in place to monitor how effectively staff are meeting  physical and/or medical needs, ensuring that young people with SEND make at least expected progress  
  • There are procedures in place for the senior leadership team to assess how effectively policies are implemented and staff are meeting  physical and/or medical needs such as  classroom observations and pupil panels 
  • Provision for meeting physical and/or medical needs is audited and evaluated 
  • There are assessment, tracking and target setting procedures in place across the curriculum for all young people that allow staff to identify any children not achieving or making the expected progress as early as possible     
  •  Additional support is recorded for young people when required, in line with the Graduated Approach. 
  • Parent and young person views of the effectiveness of provision are gathered.
