Time to source package of care
The graph illustrates the average time taken to source packages of care by Financial Year, enabling comparative analysis across zones.
It is important to recognise that the zone exhibiting the longest average sourcing time can vary between financial years. However, a consistent and prominent theme remains the marked contrast between Urban and Rural zones, which continues to highlight the inherent
challenges associated with sourcing care packages in rural areas.
Encouragingly, the data demonstrates that the gap between Urban and Rural sourcing times has continued to narrow over time, including through FY24/25. This reflects sustained improvements in sourcing efficiency and ongoing efforts to mitigate rural-specific pressures. Notwithstanding this positive trend, we remain mindful of the challenges faced by providers in certain rural zones, where market capacity and geographical constraints can still impact sourcing times.
Overall, the data shows a clear and positive trajectory of reducing average sourcing times across consecutive financial years, including further improvement in 2024/25. This indicates enhanced effectiveness in the sourcing process, alongside continued compliance with the requirement to source CRS packages of care within 24 hours.
