How do I film in Warwickshire?
Warwickshire County Council is happy to welcome productions of all sizes, and we will do our best to provide you with any assistance you may need.
To film on or over a public highway, you must apply for permission, at least one month before filming is scheduled to begin.
If you wish to also close the road or implement traffic management, this will require three months’ notice and you must also complete a separate temporary road closure application. We advise you to get in contact with the Street Works team for advice and guidance ahead of submitting the application. You should also attach a completed copy of this form alongside your application to the County Highways team.
If you require a parking suspension or permits, you may apply for a parking suspension or permit. Further information will also be available on application to County Highways.
If further council permissions or licenses are required, this will be identified upon your application to the County Highways team, and you will be advised accordingly.
In addition to filming on the highways, Warwickshire’s Country Parks provide perfect atmospheric locations for films and other productions. Email parks@warwickshire.gov.uk to discuss the requisite permissions.
Please bear in mind that you may also require permission from other organisations, depending on your locations. For example, you may need to request permission from the relevant District/Borough council to film on their land, such as parks, and you may also need to alert local emergency services.
Please note, this page is under development as we review our offer to the filming industry. If you have any questions not covered above, please get in touch with filming@warwickshire.gov.uk.
