Stratford Upon Avon School, Polish Saturday School in Warwick

This project is to facilitate the setting up of a Polish Saturday School in Warwick. This will be a place not only for learning Polish, history and Polish geography, but also a place where children and their parents will be able to cultivate Polish traditions.

Rugby Sikh Social Welfare Association – Inner Peace

A project to provide yoga and meditation sessions to ethnically diverse communities of any faith or background in Rugby, with the intention of fostering social interaction and upskilling digital knowledge to those that need.

Greenmoor Community Allotment Association – Dig Deep & Grow Strong

A Nuneaton project with the aim to assist and aid elderly people with keeping their lots tidy by providing specialist tools and training on how to use them. The project aims to bring the people out of their houses by making their life easy and providing them with the right tools to maintain the plots.  Having right tools will directly help address physical fitness amongst the tenants.

Lot 2- £5,000 - £15,000

Sahil Project- South Asian Well-being Hub

This project is based in Nuneaton and Bedworth and is aimed at the South Asian community. It will continue to organise a variety of activities on a weekly basis to reduce social isolation, promote physical activity and carry on its one-to-one emotional support sessions.

Aspire in Arts, Empower YOUth Project

This project is based in Nuneaton and Bedworth. It provides sports sessions including self-defence to separate BAME boys and girls aged 11-18 years on a weekly basis.

Warwickshire Wildlife Trust- Diverse flair to the open air

This project is Warwickshire wide with a focus on women and children. Through taster sessions it aims to introduce communities to their local green space and understand barriers to accessing green spaces. Feedback from this will go on to develop a longer-term project to encourage ethnically diverse communities to access a wider range of green spaces to improve and maintain their health and wellbeing.

Stronger Together Nuneaton East European Community

A project with the aim to support people of Eastern European decent with a program of activities including Zumba classes, social media workshops and arts & crafts sessions.

Cruse Bereavement Support – Early intervention bereavement support for South Asian Communities in Warwickshire

This project aims to deliver targeted early intervention ‘Understanding your bereavement’ sessions to bereaved South Asian communities. These sessions will provide a safe environment where grief and bereavement are explored and culturally specific thoughts and emotions can be shared.

Khair in the Community – Day time activities

This project aims to expand the services currently offered in the community to combat isolation as a result of Covid, mental health issues as a result of isolation and health issues due to lack of exercise and healthy eating. This includes local trips out to elderly individuals confined to their home, exercise classes, help with the community shop and a family play group.

Joint bid: Benn Partnership and Rugby Community Hub – World Kitchen

This project aims to provide cooking sessions using ingredients bought by participants to demonstrate their own cuisine, and then provide the opportunity to interact and eat with individuals from local communities, to combat the isolation individuals have experienced.

Eglise Armee des Vainqueurs - Women Transcend Abound and Lead (WTAL)

This project aims to provide support with employment, networking opportunities, and mental health and wellbeing support to black minority women in Nuneaton and Bedworth. The project aims to achieve this by providing a weekly activity and a forum, in which a specific issue around employment and mental health will be addressed each week. In addition, a residential empowerment retreat will be organised, and assistance will be provided to women with SEND children in helping them to complete forms to ensure they access the services they require.
