How can HI sensory needs be supported by Quality First Teaching?

Assessment Identification and Monitoring

Teachers to consider the following: 

Are parents advised to discuss and initial concerns regarding their child’s hearing with their GP? (This may result in a referral for assessment of the young person’s hearing)
Is recent assessment information used to gain a better understanding of an individual young person’s hearing impairment and to identify whether it is a barrier to their learning in the classroom?
Are the implications of the young person’s hearing impairment, as well as any aids that the young person requires, included in their One page profile?
Are there any targets/outcomes that young people with physical and/or medical needs  working towards? 
Are any changes in hearing recognised and is further advice gained when appropriate?  
Are young people involved in the development and evaluation of any sensory support strategies in class?
