Apply for a chaperone licence

Warwickshire County Council only approve chaperones who live in Warwickshire.  You must apply to the local authority in which you live if you live outside of Warwickshire.

Children must be in the care of either their parent (the child’s legal guardian) or an approved chaperone at all times. A chaperone licence is valid for three years. The chaperone approval/renewal cost is £25 for volunteer chaperones and £69 for paid chaperones.

You must allow four months for a chaperone/renewal licence. It can be quicker than this but we cannot guarantee anything less than four months, due to a DBS being undertaken. The minimum age for a chaperone is 18 years old. We only approve chaperones who live in Warwickshire.

You will need to have your ID checks in one of our offices, currently in Warwick or Bedworth, once you have submitted all of your documents to us.  The application packs are below.  Please ensure that when submitting your application it must be sent all in one email.  Any applications that are received without these completed will be rejected.  As a reminder this must include:

  • fully completed application form;
  • headshot photo;
  • payment to be made;
  • proof of completed training modules listed in the packs;
  • 3 forms of ID on email.

An interview will be required for all new chaperones after your ID check. Complete either the chaperone application pack or the chaperone renewal pack and forward to us at chaperones@warwickshire.gov.uk.
