How to switch

  1. Register and receive your free no obligation quote.
    • Energy suppliers are invited to take part in an auction to bid against each other to offer the best deal. This took place on 12 February 2019. The supplier making the lowest offer
      is the winner.
    • You will receive an offer from 25 February 2019 onwards. Please check your email spam/junk folder if you do not receive your offer by 26 March 2019 and you’re accepting online. You can contact our partner iChoosr on 0800 048 8285 (free phone line) if you haven’t received your offer.
  2. Decide if you want to accept your offer and switch.
    • There’s no obligation to switch but if you do you’ll need to accept your offer before 26 March 2019 (by email) or 19 March 2019 (by post).
  3. iChoosr will take care of the entire switching process if you decide to switch.
  4. If for any reason you are unable to register online, please contact our partner Act on Energy who will be able to assist by telephone on Freephone 0800 988 2881.

Please keep an eye on the expiry of your current or newly secured electricity and/or gas contract. You may be able to get a cheaper energy deal by switching supplier with us again.

Missed the auction date?

There are three auctions a year in February, May and October.

You can still register after the auction and access the offer secured via the previous auction. For this campaign, you have until 26 March 2019 online or until 19 March 2019 by phone or in person.

Understanding your bill

Fixed term contracts

You should consider if there are any possible early termination fees if you are on a fixed term contract with your current energy supplier. These should not apply in the last 49 days of your contract.

Standard tariffs

Many suppliers have increased their standard tariffs in the last few months, so now is a good time to see how much you can save. These are their ‘standard variable tariffs’. Suppliers will put you on this if you haven’t switched before or if your fixed term contract has ended. Seven out of ten households are on a standard tariff, which means they could save the most by switching.

Fixed contract

If your fixed period is coming to an end in the next month or so, you should be able to switch without penalty, some fixed contracts come with exit fees (or early termination fees). These should not apply in the last 49 days of your fixed term contract.

iChoosr will confirm with the winning supplier whether they can support your smart meter without losing any functions.
