Warwickshire residents can save big on their gas and electricity bills by signing up to the County Council’s Switch and Save initiative.

Many residents are still paying too much for their energy. Sometimes they don’t have the ability to switch, are afraid of switching, don’t have the time, or simply think that it’s just too much hassle. Then why not join the thousands of residents across Warwickshire who have already saved a sum total of £1,071,736.

The scheme is managed by iChoosr, a specialist collective switching organisation, which negotiate competitive prices with energy suppliers on behalf of Warwickshire residents to make the switching process as simple as possible.

In Warwickshire, around 2,064 households have registered on the current auction and combining with the other local authorities with similar collective energy schemes, have amassed a consumer collective in excess of 25,000 households. While there is no guarantee a saving will be made, the most recent auction resulted in very competitive tariffs. 97% of Warwickshire residents who are locked into a standard tariff are likely to make an average saving of £213 per year. Amazing news for people on tight budgets.

Following a successful reverse auction, between competing energy providers in May 2020. It has been confirmed that the three winning suppliers: So Energy; Together Energy and E-On will all supply 100% GREEN electricity. Good news for the environment.

Residents have already started receiving their individual offers letting them know how much they could save if they were to switch supplier. The message is clear: Don’t delay, sign up today! And the good news is that it’s not too late. You too can get a no obligation offer from iChoosr until 30 June for online applicants, or 23 June for postal applicants.

Welcoming the latest reverse auction results, Cllr Peter Butlin, Deputy Leader of Warwickshire County Council and Portfolio Holder for Finance and Property, said:

“This is fantastic news for residents in Warwickshire and demonstrates our ongoing commitment to work with partners and other organisations to improve the quality of life for all, particularly some of our more vulnerable residents who worry about the costs of heating their homes.

“Some residents will be paying too much, particularly if they haven’t switched supplier for a while, so I’d encourage everyone to sign up and see what offer they receive. Last time, a large percentage of those who registered were eligible for an average saving of £228 on their bills. How much could you save? Don’t delay, sign up today."
