Care homes commissioning intentions
- Care homes in Warwickshire are contracted via user choice direct award.
- Care homes will continue to play an important role for some working age adults with complex needs where residential or nursing care is the most appropriate option, but support should still promote independence, choice, dignity and access to the local community wherever possible.
- We want to reduce reliance on out-of-area placements by making best use of local provision.
- We will maintain strong oversight of care home quality and continue working closely with providers to improve the availability of good-quality, affordable services across Warwickshire.
- This includes supporting providers to adapt their offer to meet changing demand and needs over time.
