If you have come to this website for someone that you may feel is isolated or lonely then please use the resources below to access help:
Give: The support you can give someone who may be lonely or isolated is extremely valuable. In time this may help them to give the same support to someone else. If you don’t have anyone in mind but would like to offer your time you can sign up for volunteering or timebanking in your area.
Connect: Help the person you know who is feeling lonely to connect with others, either with friends/family, or through befriending or by finding a local group. Consider becoming a befriender yourself to help others who may be feeling lonely.
Take Notice: If you notice a friend or a neighbour isn’t going about their daily routine or aren’t coming to group events, then do reach out to them and check that they are ok. You never know if someone needs help but are too afraid to ask for it. There are lots of things they can do to help improve their situation.
Keep Learning: Encourage the person you know who is feeling lonely to join a hobby or interest group and learn a new skill, for ideas of what to do search our directory or take a look at the Adult Community Learning Courses on offer. Or spend time with them learning a new skill together.
Be Active: Encourage the person you know who is feeling lonely to keep active. Even a short local walk can be really beneficial to reducing isolation and for health and wellbeing. For ideas of groups to join search our directory or find out more about being physically active in Warwickshire.
