The existing BP Pulse chargepoints that are in operation at 26 locations across Warwickshire are in the process of being taken over by a new provider. Warwickshire County Council has worked hard to ensure that the tariffs of the new provision will be cheaper, and that the new facilities will have much better reliability and uptime. Unfortunately, while this transition takes place, there is the possibility of service disruption.
From Sunday 1 March 2026, there is a possibility that some, or all of these charging locations will go offline while we work with the new provider to get the replacement service up and running.
We would ask all residents and visitors to please make sure that they check their app to ensure that the chargepoints at these locations are in service before going to charge. If they are not in service, check ZapMap for nearby alternatives.
As more and more people switch to electric vehicles, it is important that the public charging infrastructure is reliable and easy to use. If you encounter a fault with a public electric vehicle charge point in Warwickshire, you can report it using the following steps:
- Identify the charge point operator. The first step is to identify the operator of the charge point. This information is usually displayed on a sticker or sign next to the charger.
- Contact the operator. Once you have identified the operator, you can contact them to report the fault. The contact information for the operator will also be displayed on the sticker or sign next to the charger.
- Provide details of the fault. When you contact the operator, be sure to provide them with as much detail as possible about the fault. This includes the location of the charger, the type of charger, the time and date of the fault, and a description of the problem.
- Follow up with the operator. Once you have reported the fault to the operator, be sure to follow up with them to ensure that the problem is fixed. The operator should be able to provide you with an estimate of when the fault will be repaired. It can be as simple as resetting the software remotely, getting the power flowing again immediately.
Here are some additional tips for reporting a fault with a public electric vehicle charge point:
- If possible, take a picture of the fault. This will help the operator to troubleshoot the problem.
- Be as specific as possible when describing the fault. This will help the operator to identify and fix the problem more quickly.
- If the fault is serious, such as a broken plug or damaged cable, do not attempt to use the charger. Instead, report the fault to the operator immediately.
By following these steps, you can help to ensure that public electric vehicle charge points in Warwickshire are reliable and easy to use.
