The Inclusion Framework Support (IFS) programme brings SENCOs together to learn, reflect and support one another through structured supervision groups, solution circles, coaching, and practical training resources such as SEND Snacks and webinars. SENCOs from local schools, including infant, primary, secondary, specialist and mainstream, meet for half termly supervision sessions facilitated by an Educational Psychologist.

Feedback shows that the programme has had a very positive impact. SENCOs reported strong collaboration, open and honest discussions, and a safe space to reflect on their work. They valued learning from each other and developing practical strategies that could be used directly in their schools.

As a result, many SENCOs felt more confident in their role, improved their SEND practice, and saw positive outcomes for pupils. The programme also helped to raise the profile of SEND within schools and created lasting local networks that will continue beyond the project. The training resources were seen as relevant, accessible and useful for staff development. Overall, IFS has strengthened professional practice, improved support for pupils, and is highly recommended by those who took part.

With all the upcoming changes in relation to ‘Every Child Achieving and Thriving’ we anticipate that the IFS support will be invaluable.

For the academic year 2026-27 this is available to all schools with no charge
