Toilet training
Toilet training is a significant milestone for both children and parents. Toilet training and using a potty is a new skill for your child to learn, it's best to take it slowly and go at your child's pace. Being patient with them will help them get it right, even if you sometimes feel frustrated.
Starting Reception provide advice on potty training including when and how to start, the importance of routine, along with help if your child has additional needs. Eric, The Children’s Bowel and Bladder Charity also provide potty training advice with additional guidance for children and young people who have bowel and bladder conditions.
Hygiene
Between the ages of three and five, it's also important to teach your child to wash their hands and wash themselves independently so that they gain:
- Good hygiene habits
- Self-confidence
- A sense of responsibility
Children's teeth
Maintaining good dental hygiene for children aged 0 to 5 is essential for their overall health and development. Start early to prevent decay and build healthy habits to ensure your child has a healthy smile that lasts a lifetime.
