Fees and payment methods
The DBS charges the following fees:
- Standard DBS checks - £41.90 (including handling and excluding VAT)
- Enhanced DBS checks - £69.90 (including handling and excluding VAT)
- Enhanced DBS with Barred List checks - £69.90 (including handling and excluding VAT)
- Warwickshire DBS checks for volunteers are free of charge although the handling fee will be £20.40 excluding VAT
Payment via card portal
As part of our ongoing efforts to improve our services and streamline processes, we have implemented changes to our payment methods.
From 2 February 2026, upon submission of the application for counter signatory, you may be asked to make the appropriate payment by card. This means that you will no longer need to wait for the invoice to be sent before being able to make payment to us. These changes are aimed at enhancing the convenience, security and efficiency of our payment processes.
Please note: All private organisations set up after this date will automatically be enrolled with this payment method.
Payment of eDBS Service invoices
When an application is submitted to the DBS eBulk System a charge is raised at the end of the month by the DBS and Warwickshire County Council must then pay this charge at the end of that month, whether a result has been received or not.
Because of this, we in turn invoice our customers based on the date that the application was submitted to the DBS.
Invoices are raised monthly and all applications submitted to the DBS between the dates stated on the invoice will be due for payment.
Our terms for payment are 30 days from the invoice date. Failure to pay within these terms can result in temporary deactivation of your access to the system.
