Books on prescription (BOP) can help you manage your health and wellbeing with self-help books, eBooks and CDs, covering mental health topics like:

  • depression
  • anxiety
  • stress
  • dementia

All titles are recommended by health professionals.

Prescription service

If you are already a library member, BOP books are available to borrow without a prescription.

If you are not a library member, health and social care professionals can prescribe the BOP service. Ask your GP or health professional to complete the relevant form below:

Once completed, take the form to your local library. If you are not already a member of the library, you can join immediately, using the prescription form as identification.

Background information

We developed BOP with our partners; Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT), Adult Mental Health Services and Warwickshire’s community and voluntary sector.

BOP is part of Reading Well Books on Prescription, delivered by the Reading Agency in partnership with the Society of Chief Librarians, with funding from the Arts Council.
