If you can’t get to the library due to ill health or disability and you do not have someone to collect books for you, the library can come to you. We can offer books in standard and large print and also have a wide range of audio books in different formats.
If you would like to borrow a particular title from Warwickshire’s stock, we can get this for you.
This service is free.
How does it work?
Once you have told us what you like to read we will make up a collection of books for you. We will visit you once every four weeks to deliver the books and collect the books you have borrowed.

Would you like to help?
We deliver the service through a team of staff and volunteers.
The Rural Home Library Delivery Service, based at Kenilworth Library, is always looking for new volunteers. You can commit as much or as little time as you can spare, from one day a month to a few hours a week. There are a number of ways that you can help:
- Book selection: spend a few hours in an afternoon choosing books, talking books, and jigsaws for customers;
- Stock maintenance: you will receive training and materials to give you the skills to maintain our stock. We will teach you to replace loose pages, protect book covers, repair book spines and test and repair our talking book cassettes;
- Visiting / driving: use one of our small vans to visit housebound people across Warwickshire. It is not necessary to be able to drive as volunteers always go out in pairs. Some customers like to chat while others see the visit as a delivery. This role would suit someone with good communication and personal skills.
