Annette Thomas - Team Lead and Senior Solicitor for Property
Qualifying in 1986 and having worked at multiple local authorities, Annette joined Warwickshire Legal Services in 2016 as the Team Leader and Senior Solicitor for Property. She advises the county council and a range of external clients on commercial property transactions, which includes large scales acquisitions and disposals for clients and commercial landlord and tenant matters, and agricultural matters. She specialises in large scale sales and acquisitions of land for residential development.
Property Team
The property team act for both the council and external clients, advising on a wide range of property matters. Made up of solicitors and legal assistants, with support from the in-house support team in handling transactional duties, the team has expertise in:
- commercial property transactions
- landlord and tenant matters
- education property transactions
- regeneration and development schemes
- acquisitions of land for major schemes
- registration of assets of community value
- social care deferred payments
- farm business tenancies
- deeds of surrenders
- rent review notices
- estate management
- transactional acquisition & disposal portfolio
- acquisition of land from developers
- overage deeds
- advising officers in the preparation of committee reports
- supporting major contracts including care contracts and leisure centre contracts in the provision of related property documents.
