Stratford Park and Ride and Parkway Station

Stratford Park and Ride has over 700 parking spaces and is the ideal place to park if you are visiting the historic market town of Stratford-upon-Avon. Arrive after 9am and pay £1 to park for the day, with bus or train travel payable separately. Season tickets are available for regular users and provide combined parking and bus travel from as little as £1.50 per day (annual season ticket).

A staffed passenger terminal with toilets is open Monday to Saturday between 7.30am and 12.30pm. The toilets are not available outside of these hours.

The car park is open every day, but buses do not run on Sundays or winter bank holidays.

Location

Stratford Park and Ride is located off Bishopton Lane near to the roundabout with the A46 (T) and the A3400 Birmingham Road. It is well signed on the approach roads from the north and west to help you find the site.

Parking

The car park is Pay and Display. Buy your ticket from one of the ticket machines using cash or card. Alternatively, use the RingGo parking app, a quick and easy way to pay for your parking. Find out more about RingGo and download the app.

In addition to the parking fee, you will need to pay for the Park and Ride bus or rail services separately.

Drivers displaying a valid disabled badge or with an electric vehicle plugged into one of the site’s charging points, can park for free, but bus/rail fares still apply.

Please note that no motorhomes, caravans or camper vans are permitted at Stratford Park and Ride at any time.

Please note that there is a height restriction of 2.1m / 6ft 10ins.

Stratford Park and Ride bus service is included in the local Warwickshire concessionary travel scheme. This means Warwickshire concessionary bus passholders can travel free of charge after 9am weekdays.

Non-Warwickshire concessionary bus passes can be used on the Park and Ride bus service from 9.30am in accordance with the national minimum concessionary scheme.

Car park season tickets (including bus travel)

Season tickets offer great value providing parking and bus travel for as little as £1.50 per day (annual season ticket). Season tickets include parking and one daily return bus ticket for use of the park and ride bus for the duration of the season ticket.

Weekly - £11.50 (to be purchased from parking machines only)

Travel to the town centre

Take the bus

Catch the bus in front of the passenger terminal and be dropped off in Wood Street in the town centre, where you also catch the return bus.

The bus service operates Monday to Saturday between 7.30am and 6.45pm (last bus leaves Stratford Wood Street at 6.45pm). On Bank Holidays the first bus is at 10am. Buses run every 15 minutes for most of the day and the journey takes approximately 10 to 12 minutes.

Please note, services before 9am and Monday to Friday term time between 2.55pm and 4.45pm run every 30 minutes. Please check the timetable for timings.

Take the train

Regular trains run between Stratford Parkway station, situated at the far end of the Park and Ride site and the town station, a 10 minute walk from the town centre. There are two to three trains an hour through the day, and services run into the late evening and take about 3 minutes. Please check National Rail for further information.

Adult day return fares are £2.40 for anytime travel or £2 for off-peak and can be purchased from ticket machines at the station. Weekly, monthly and annual rail-only season tickets are also available.

Or take a leisurely walk or cycle

If you are not in a hurry you can also take a leisurely walk along the canal into the centre of town. It is a one and three-quarter mile walk to the heart of the town centre, so depending on how quickly you walk, you will need to allow about 40 minutes. You can also cycle along the canal to the town centre. The canal towpath, which is part of National Cycle Network Route 5, is about 300 metres from the car park. Leave the site on the shared use footpath / cycleway which starts near Parkway station and follow the blue signs. Cross Bishopton Lane using the Toucan crossing and turn right. At the roundabout, turn right to continue along Bishopton Lane and join the canal towpath in about 50 metres, turning left for the town centre.

No animals are allowed on the Stratford Park and Ride site and bus service except for guide or assistance dogs.

The service operates using low floor accessible buses.

There is a fully accessible toilet in the customer services building open 7.30am to 12.30pm.

There are four electric car charging points available to use at the Stratford Park and Ride site. Vehicles can park for free when plugged in.
