The Shottery Relief Road is a Warwickshire County Council scheme; however, it is designed to connect to the existing A46/A422 Alcester Road junction at Wildmoor Roundabout, which forms part of the National Highways network.

While the physical works to upgrade the roundabout are being delivered by the developer, the scheme falls under National Highways and is therefore considered a National Highways scheme rather than a WCC one.

These works have not yet commenced, and until the connection is completed, the relief road cannot be opened due to access and safety constraints.

At present, there is no confirmed timeline for when these works will be carried out. This is partly due to the presence of other schemes in the area and the limited road space available, which restricts the scheduling of new works in the vicinity.

All parties involved are working to progress the scheme as quickly as possible, but it is also important to manage the timing carefully to avoid placing excessive strain on the local and strategic road network, which could lead to further congestion elsewhere. Once complete, the relief road will provide a direct route from the B439 Evesham Road to the A46 Alcester Road and is expected to ease traffic pressure on local roads.
