Information for social workers
The Education Adviser linked to each child can be found on the ePEP or by emailing virtualschool@warwickshire.gov.uk.
School moves and admissions
The Virtual School must be consulted before any school move is considered.
Admissions for school places vary slightly according to local authority and the correct procedure must be followed to avoid delays.
Education, health and care plans (EHCPs)
Annual reviews need to be arranged by education settings. The local authority in which the child resides is responsible for ensuring that needs are being met, except in the case of 52-week placements where the responsibility is retained by Warwickshire.
PEP reviews
Designated teachers take the lead for PEP reviews but social workers need to be present and ensure that termly reviews take place.
Access to the ePEP system and individual records is administered by the Virtual School.
Social Worker Training
Are you new to Warwickshire social care? Not attended Virtual School training previously? Want a refresher on the work of the Virtual School?
We have set monthly sessions to find out about the work of the Virtual School – who we are and how we can work together to get the best educational outcomes for young people. Training will be via Microsoft Teams and can be booked via your link Education Adviser or at virtualschool@warwickshire.gov.uk.
