Supporting Warwickshire businesses to access new opportunities, grow and contribute to a thriving local economy was at the heart of a dedicated event bringing local firms together with the council.
Businesses from across the county were welcomed to an event with Warwickshire County Council to learn more about the Council’s tendering, procurement and contract management processes and how they can explore opportunities to work with the local authority.
The event began with officers from the council's procurement and contract management teams who provided practical information to help local businesses better understand the procurement process, while highlighting the importance of making opportunities accessible to Warwickshire businesses.
Led by Warwickshire Business Growth Service, the session also gave businesses the chance to find out about the wider support available through Warwickshire County Council and its partners.
The session was well received by those attending, with 86% of businesses saying they found it helpful. Information about the Warwickshire Business Growth Service was also identified as the most useful part of the business support information provided during the event.
Warwickshire Business Growth Service provides a front door to business support and funding, helping businesses across the county access the advice and opportunities they need to grow.
By helping more Warwickshire businesses understand opportunities to work with the Council, the event supports a wider ambition to strengthen the local economy, create opportunities for local businesses and ensure that economic growth benefits Warwickshire’s communities.
Councillor George Finch, Leader of Warwickshire County Council, said:
“Warwickshire has a fantastic range of businesses, and we want to make sure they are aware of the opportunities available to them, feel confident about exploring them and know how to deliver contracts with the council.
“Helping local businesses understand how they can work with the Council is one part of the wider support we provide.
“Supporting a strong local business community is important not only for our economy, but for local people too, helping to create jobs, opportunities and thriving places across Warwickshire.”
