From supporting local jobs and independent businesses to helping our town centres, attractions and hospitality venues thrive, Warwickshire’s visitor economy makes a difference to communities.
Visitors contributed £1.458 billion to Warwickshire’s economy in 2025, supporting 26,282 jobs and generating 16 million visitor trips across the county.
The latest economic impact figures highlight the important role the visitor economy plays in Warwickshire, bringing spending into local communities and supporting businesses ranging from hotels, restaurants and visitor attractions to independent retailers, cultural venues and other businesses within the tourism supply chain.
Visitors spent £1.04 billion directly during trips to Warwickshire in 2025, including £588 million from day visitors and £452 million from those staying overnight.
The sector directly supported 18,822 tourism jobs, with a further 7,460 jobs supported through supply chain and wider economic impacts.
During the year, Warwickshire welcomed 14.6 million day trips and 1.4 million staying trips, generating 4.5 million visitor nights.
Recognising the important contribution tourism makes to Warwickshire’s economy and communities, Warwickshire County Council is working with businesses and partners to develop and grow the county’s visitor economy, encouraging more people to discover Warwickshire, explore more of the county and stay for longer.
The Council delivers Visit Warwickshire as its countywide destination management and promotion platform. It champions Warwickshire as a visitor destination, supports tourism businesses, helps develop visitor experiences and brings together a stronger, more recognisable story for the county.
Working alongside destination management organisations, local destinations and visitor economy businesses, the Council is helping ensure that the benefits of tourism are felt across Warwickshire’s towns, villages and rural communities.
Councillor Rob Howard, Portfolio Holder for Economy at Warwickshire County Council, said:
“These figures show just how important the visitor economy is to Warwickshire. Behind the £1.46 billion contribution are thousands of local jobs and businesses, as well as thriving places and communities that benefit when people choose to visit and spend time here.
“From Shakespeare’s Stratford-upon-Avon and Warwick Castle to our countryside, market towns, food and drink businesses, events and cultural experiences, Warwickshire has an incredible amount to offer. Every visit and overnight stay brings additional spending into the county and helps support our local economy.
“Through Visit Warwickshire, we are working with our destination partners and tourism businesses to strengthen Warwickshire’s visitor offer, reach new audiences and encourage people to explore more of the county and stay for longer.
“The tourism market remains challenging, but the passion and entrepreneurial spirit of businesses across the sector gives us real confidence in Warwickshire’s potential as a visitor destination.”
The figures come as Visit Warwickshire continues to develop its countywide presence following the launch of its destination website and social media channels, giving visitors inspiration and information to help them plan days out, short breaks and longer stays.
