People who live, work or study in Warwickshire are being reminded that there is still time to take part in Warwickshire County Council’s budget consultation, but the deadline is fast approaching.

The Council is inviting feedback to help inform its budget proposals for 2027/28. The consultation asks people which services they value most, their views on potential Council Tax options, and where efficiencies could be explored. It also invites suggestions on how the Council could work differently or generate additional income.

Like councils across the country, Warwickshire County Council continues to face pressure from rising costs and increasing demand for services, particularly in areas such as children’s and adult social care, support for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities, and home to school transport.

The Council has already delivered more than £200 million of savings since 2014, with further savings agreed as part of its medium-term financial planning. Through its wider Value for Money programme, the Council is continuing to look at opportunities to reduce unnecessary costs, improve efficiency, make better use of assets and technology, prevent problems earlier and, where appropriate, generate additional income.

Cllr James Crocker, Deputy Leader and Portfolio Holder for Finance and Property, said:

"Thank you to everyone who has already taken the time to complete the survey. We want to make sure as many people as possible have the opportunity to have their say before the consultation closes.

"The financial pressures facing councils are significant, and the decisions we make need to balance the services people rely on with the resources available. Hearing directly from residents, businesses, students and community organisations helps us better understand what matters most to them.

"If you haven't yet shared your views, I'd encourage you to take a few minutes to complete the survey before it closes on 1 November."

The consultation will help inform the Council's budget proposals. The final decisions remain the responsibility of elected councillors through the formal budget-setting process.
