Warwickshire County Council is inviting residents, partners and organisations to have their say on the future of its commissioned equalities service for Warwickshire communities.
The Council is launching a public consultation to help inform the future of the service, which is currently delivered by the Equalities and Inclusion Partnership (EQuIP). The independently delivered service provides practical support, advice and training to people, communities and organisations across Warwickshire. It works to tackle discrimination and hate crime, promote community cohesion and build greater understanding and inclusion.
The service is non-statutory and has been delivered by EQuIP since October 2022. The current contract runs until March 2027.
Cllr Michael Bannister, portfolio holder for Resources and Internal Affairs said:
“We understand that considering changes to the services we commission can create uncertainty for people who use them and the organisations that work alongside them. Like many councils, we are facing significant financial pressures and need to look carefully at how we deliver services in the future.
“It is important that we hear from people who may be affected. No decisions have been made, and we will consider the feedback carefully before deciding on the next steps.
“The feedback will help us understand the potential impact of any changes and inform our thinking about the future.”
The consultation will run from Monday 12 October to Saturday 6 December 2026. interested parties can have their say through the Ask Warwickshire survey: https://ask.warwickshire.gov.uk/bi/equalities-service/
