Residents and visitors are encouraged to explore Warwickshire this autumn and the county's packed programme of seasonal events, activities and local experiences.
From national agricultural competitions and harvest celebrations to food and drink events, family shows and countryside attractions, Warwickshire's rural businesses are showcasing the very best the county has to offer throughout the autumn season.
The events programme highlights the important contribution rural businesses make to Warwickshire's economy, while giving people the opportunity to discover new places, support local producers and enjoy memorable days out across the county.
One of the biggest events in the rural calendar, the National Ploughing Championships, will take place near Atherstone on 10 and 11 October. Around 250 of the country's top ploughmen and women will compete across a range of championship classes, alongside agricultural trade stands, food vendors, crafts and family-friendly attractions.
Food and drink lovers can celebrate the harvest season at a range of events across the county, including Apple Day in Barford on 17 October, the Harvest Open Day at Blabers Hall Vineyard on 4 October and the Shiny Vine Harvest Celebration on 24 October.
Visitors can also sample Warwickshire's seasonal produce by visiting local farm shops, farmers' markets and country markets, helping to support local growers and producers while enjoying some of the county's finest food and drink.
The autumn programme continues with popular events at the National Agricultural and Exhibition Centre (NAEC) at Stoneleigh, including The Baby & Toddler Show from 30 October to 1 November, Edition Dog Live on 17 and 18 October, and Your Horse Live from 6 to 8 November.
Later in the season, visitors are invited to celebrate Warwickshire's farming heritage at Farmers' Day at Warwick Racecourse on 11 November, before rounding off the year with the Great British Land Rover Show at NAEC Stoneleigh on 22 November.
Councillor Rob Howard, Portfolio Holder for Economy and Rural Development at Warwickshire County Council, said:
"Autumn is a fantastic time to explore Warwickshire and experience everything our rural communities and businesses have to offer. From nationally recognised agricultural events to local food and drink celebrations, there are countless opportunities to discover new places, enjoy great days out and support local businesses.
"Our rural economy plays a vital role in Warwickshire's success, supporting jobs, attracting visitors and helping our communities thrive. By choosing to visit local events, attractions and producers, residents and visitors can play an important part in supporting the businesses that make our county such a special place.
"We want more people to discover the breadth of experiences available across Warwickshire and encourage visitors to explore beyond our well-known destinations, helping to spread the benefits of tourism across the county and support sustainable rural economic growth."
