1157_26 Foster care celebration evening invite INSTA 2026

Anyone considering becoming a foster carer is invited to be inspired at the Warwickshire Fostering Celebration Event in November.

Prospective foster carers are invited to come along and be inspired by the real-life stories of Warwickshire foster carers at Warwickshire Fostering's annual Celebration Event.

Taking place on Wednesday 4 November 2026 from 6 to 7.30pm at the historic Old Shire Hall, Warwick, the event will bring together foster carers, fostering families, children and young people, and professionals to celebrate the life-changing impact of fostering across Warwickshire.

As well as recognising the outstanding contribution of Warwickshire's foster carers through a series of awards, the event offers a unique opportunity for anyone considering fostering to meet current carers, hear their stories, and learn more about the support available through Warwickshire Fostering.

The evening will feature:

  • Foster Carer Awards recognising outstanding dedication and achievement.
  • Children of Foster Carer Awards celebrating the vital role fostering families play in helping children feel welcome and supported.
  • Information about Warwickshire Fostering's enhanced packages of support for specialist foster carers and new development opportunities and incentives.
  • Opportunities to meet members of the fostering team and ask questions about becoming a foster carer.

Warwickshire Fostering is keen to hear from people who may have the commitment, compassion and understanding needed to support local children and young people. More foster carers are needed for teenagers and sibling groups, helping children stay close to their schools, friends and communities whenever possible.

Councillor Wayne Briggs and Portfolio Holder for Children and Families, Education and SEND at Warwickshire County Council, said:

"Our annual Celebration Event is a chance to recognise the incredible contribution our foster carers make every day, providing children with safe, stable and nurturing homes where they can thrive. It is also an opportunity for anyone who has ever thought about fostering to come along, learn more and speak directly with the people who understand the journey best."

The event will also highlight Warwickshire Fostering's ongoing commitment to supporting carers through enhanced training, practical guidance, financial support and peer networks, ensuring foster carers feel valued and supported throughout their fostering journey.

Rebecca Clifford, Warwickshire Fostering Recruitment Team Manager, said:

"Many people rule themselves out before they have even explored fostering. The reality is that foster carers come from a wide range of backgrounds, ages and experiences. What they have in common is a willingness to provide care, support and stability for children who need it."

"Whether you are simply curious about fostering or seriously considering taking the next step, we would love to welcome you to our Celebration Event. It's a chance to meet our team, hear from current foster carers and discover the difference you could make to a child's future."

Warwickshire currently has over 800 children in care, sadly over half of these children are fostered out of Warwickshire, due to lack of local foster carers. Fostering locally helps children remain connected to the people, places and support networks that matter most to them.
