Warwickshire engineering business 3P innovation is celebrating receiving its third royal award in six years, having been recognised with a prestigious King's Award for Enterprise for Innovation earlier this year.

The award recognises the company's cryoFIL® automated cryovial filling platform, which has been developed to help address key manufacturing challenges in the rapidly growing cell and gene therapy sector.

Based at its Warwickshire engineering campus, 3P innovation works with leading pharmaceutical and medical device companies worldwide to develop high-performance automation systems that help bring next-generation healthcare products to market. This latest award recognises the company's expertise which spans bespoke automation and pharmaceutical equipment, supporting customers from laboratory development and clinical manufacturing, through to pilot lines and full commercial production.

Councillor Rob Howard, Warwickshire County Council's Portfolio Holder for Economy and Rural Development, said:

"It is fantastic to see a Warwickshire business recognised with one of the UK's most prestigious business awards. 3P innovation's success demonstrates the world-class engineering expertise that exists across the county, helping to strengthen our local economy. The company's continued investment in innovation, skills and its workforce is helping to create high-value jobs, support economic growth, and showcase Warwickshire's reputation as a place where ambitious businesses can succeed."

Nick Brooks, Managing Director at 3P innovation, said:

"Receiving a King's Award for Enterprise is a tremendous achievement for our team and reflects the hard work, expertise and commitment that has gone into developing cryoFIL®. This innovation addresses a real challenge facing advanced therapy manufacturers and has the potential to help more life-changing treatments reach patients. We are proud to be a Warwickshire business competing on a global stage and delighted that our achievements have been recognised through this prestigious award."

3P innovation

While 3P innovation is headquartered in the UK, its reach is global, with a network of sales agents spanning markets including the United States, Japan, India and Europe, following investment in the company’s UK engineering capability which has included investing £9 million in its Tournament Fields campus in Warwickshire, creating purpose-built premises for the development, manufacture, assembly and testing of increasingly sophisticated automation and pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment.

3P innovation also focuses on the development of its people, offering undergraduate internships, graduate development schemes and support for apprenticeships through a longstanding partnership with Coventry-based MGTS. Together, these programmes provide structured training for the next generation of engineers.

As the business has grown, 3P innovation has worked with Warwickshire Skills Hub, part of Warwickshire County Council, to access recruitment support and workforce development advice. The Skills Hub also connected 3P innovation’s STEM ambassadors with the University of Warwick and Coventry University, helping to strengthen links between the business, local education and the region’s future engineering talent.

For 3P innovation, investing in people is closely linked to investing in innovation. Developing the next generation of engineering talent provides the skills and capability needed to continue designing and delivering increasingly sophisticated manufacturing technologies.

The Lord-Lieutenant of Warwickshire, Tim Cox, said:

"The King's Awards for Enterprise celebrate the very best of British business, recognising organisations that demonstrate excellence, innovation and ambition. 3P innovation is a worthy recipient of this award, and I am delighted to see a Warwickshire company gaining national recognition for its pioneering work in advanced manufacturing and healthcare technology. This achievement is a testament to the dedication, expertise and innovation shown by the whole team."

3P innovation's latest King's Award for Innovation adds to an impressive record of achievement that includes two Princess Royal Training Awards and previous royal Awards for Enterprise, recognising its innovation and business success. Through continued investment in technology, skills and people, the company is demonstrating how Warwickshire businesses are competing and succeeding on a global stage while helping to develop advanced healthcare solutions for the future.
