End of Life Support
This is not clinical training but more about the WHY and HOW to provide person centred support for people to die well.
The emphasis will be on supporting the physical, psychological, and spiritual needs of people at the end of life and their family and friends.
Learning Outcomes:
- Providing Safe and Compassionate care for people at the end of their lives
- Importance of Person-Centred Communication with everyone concerned
- The Value of Advanced Care planning, differences between an Advanced Statement & an Advanced Decision & possible tools e.g. Message in a Bottle
- End of life care pathways e.g. Gold Standard Framework, Hospice’s, End of life Doulas.
