Voluntary and community organisations across Warwickshire are being encouraged not to miss out on a share of £500,000 available through WCC's new Crisis and Resilience Community Grant fund.
The fund is open for applications until 5pm on Sunday 4 October 2026, giving local organisations a limited window to secure funding for projects that can help residents become more financially resilient and reduce the risk of future hardship.
The grant programme is designed to support practical, community-based initiatives that help people withstand and recover from financial shocks, such as a sudden loss of income, rising household costs or unexpected expenses. The overall aim is to help residents move from immediate financial difficulties towards greater independence, stability and long-term resilience.
Funding could support a wide range of projects, including:
- Money management, budgeting and financial capability support
- Affordable credit and savings schemes
- Cooking on a budget, digital inclusion and other practical life skills programmes
- Warm spaces that provide advice and information about local support services
- Initiatives that help people reduce reliance on emergency food provision
- Outreach and engagement projects aimed at vulnerable groups at greater risk of financial hardship
- Debt advice and income-maximisation support
Cllr Mike Bannister, Warwickshire County Council's Portfolio Holder for Resources and Internal Affairs, said:
"We know that community and voluntary organisations are often best placed to provide trusted, practical support to people facing financial pressures. This funding is an opportunity to expand that support and develop projects that create lasting change.
"Whether it's helping people learn budgeting skills, access affordable credit, manage debt, or move away from repeated reliance on emergency support, we want to hear from organisations with ideas that can make a real difference in their communities.
"While there is still time for organisations to apply, I would encourage groups not to leave it until the last minute.”
The funding is aimed at grassroots organisations and specialist providers working with people who are experiencing, or most at risk of, financial hardship. While applications are welcomed from across Warwickshire, organisations may wish to consider areas of the county where levels of poverty and deprivation are highest.
Eligible applicants include:
- Constituted not-for-profit community organisations in Warwickshire
- New or non-constituted not-for-profit groups that can be supported by an established organisation acting as an accountable body
- Warwickshire town and parish councils
- Schools applying through a PTA or Friends of group
