Based on the unprecedented response received from informal engagement, whilst the County Council recognises the weight of feeling both for and against closing the Causeway.
Whilst the County Council recognises the weight of feeling both for and against closing the Causeway, there was a majority who supported the proposed trial closure and as such we will develop a proposal for a trial in 2027.
The trial proposal will be informed by the feedback received through the engagement. We will release further details about the trial closure, including information on the formal consultation process, in due course.
