A record 173 people rolled out their yoga mats for a single Park Yoga session at Ryton Pools Country Park this summer, as the free outdoor sessions continue to grow in popularity across Warwickshire.

Since the start of the season in May, 3,453 total attendees have been recorded at the sessions at Ryton Pools Country Park and Kingsbury Water Park, with an average of 106 people joining each session at Ryton Pools and 85 at Kingsbury.

The sessions have provided a free and accessible way for people of all ages and abilities to get active, unwind and enjoy the benefits of spending time outdoors, while connecting with others in their local community.

Park Yoga first started at Kingsbury Water Park in 2025, and following a successful season expanded to Ryton Pools Country Park this year.

The response has been extremely positive both in attendance and in feedback from those taking part. Comments shared on social media include: “just wanted to say thank you for great yoga, in a great space with a great community. I’ve come alone and with others and have loved it. I’ll be back next year for more”, “What a great way to start the day!” and “A very special way to spend a Sunday morning.”

Councillor Darren Cheshire, Warwickshire County Council’s Portfolio Holder for Heritage, Culture and Environment, said:

“It’s been fantastic to see so many people taking part in Park Yoga at our country parks this summer. The sessions provide an affordable way for people of all abilities to support their health and wellbeing, while also helping more people discover two of the vibrant green spaces that make Warwickshire so special.

“With the final session of the season taking place on 13 September, there’s still time to give it a go. Whether you’re a regular attendee or have never tried yoga before, we’d love to see you there.”

The final Park Yoga sessions of the 2026 season will take place at 9.30am on Sunday 13 September at both Kingsbury Water Park and Ryton Pools Country Park. No booking is required, participants can simply turn up with a yoga mat or towel and look for the Park Yoga flag.

The Warwickshire Country Parks team hopes to welcome Park Yoga back to both parks in May 2027.
