Support across Warwickshire

Listening Ear has been re‑commissioned by Warwickshire County Council.

Listening Ear to continue delivering DiAmond; a specialist counselling service for adults, children and young people affected by domestic abuse, accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

From the 1st September 2026, referral pathways have been expanded, enabling a wider range of professionals to refer children, young people and adults affected by domestic abuse. Full referral information is available on the Listening Ear website: https://listening-ear.co.uk/diamond/

The service has over a decade of experience supporting victim-survivors through trauma-informed counselling and offers support through one-to-one counselling in schools, colleges, community venues, via video conferencing or telephone.

Councillor Anne-Marie Sonko, Portfolio Holder for Adult Social Care and Health said: “Supporting victim survivors of domestic abuse is a priority for the council so that residents can live well in Warwickshire. Access to a specialist counselling service like DiAmond can make a real difference in helping individuals to rebuild their lives. We are making sure that more children, young people and adults across Warwickshire who are victim survivors of domestic abuse can access timely, high-quality support when they need it most.”

In 2024, Listening Ear also introduced two online groups to the DiAmond service offer, one for primary aged children and one for secondary aged young people to provide ongoing support after counselling ends. These groups offer a safe space to share experiences, feelings and mutual support with activities such as crafts, poetry and yoga to support physical and emotional wellbeing.

Christine Ankers, Clinical Director at Listening Ear, said: “We are delighted to continue delivering DiAmond in Warwickshire. Expanding referral routes means more children, young people and adults can access the counselling they need to rebuild confidence, resilience and emotional wellbeing after domestic abuse.”
