Thousands of young people across the county will be celebrating today as they receive their GCSE results, which are the culmination of hard work over the last two years.
This year, over 6,700 Warwickshire students have completed GCSEs or equivalent qualifications such as BTECs and other practical and applied learning qualifications at schools, further education colleges and with training providers.
Early results from this morning indicate a positive picture across the board though full results from individual schools are still being collated. Detailed data about the county’s overall performance will be published by the Department for Education (DfE) in the autumn.
Councillor Wayne Briggs, Warwickshire County Council's portfolio holder for Education, said: “I extend congratulations to all Warwickshire students who will receive GCSE results today. This is a significant milestone, and your hard work, dedication, and resilience over the past two years have truly paid off. We're incredibly proud of your achievements, and it's fantastic to see such positive early indications from schools across the county.
“For those students whose results might not have been what they hoped for, please remember that this is just one step on your journey. There are many options available, whether that's further education, apprenticeships, or other training. Support is available through schools and colleges, as well as services like Shaw Trust and the National Careers Service. Whatever your results, we want to help ensure you are set for the future, and we're here to help you explore the best choices for you."

Students who believe the results process was not followed correctly in their case can appeal their final grades through their school or college. Schools and colleges can also appeal if they believe there has been a wider issue affecting their results.
