Warwickshire County Council has announced a series of updates and improvements to bus routes and timetables across the county, scheduled to take effect from 29th August.

​The upcoming changes include the introduction of new routes to serve growing communities, operator updates, and timetable adjustments designed to improve punctuality and better align services with passenger demand. 

Cllr Stephen Shaw, Warwickshire County Council’s Portfolio Holder for Transport and Planning, said: "Public transport is a vital part of keeping Warwickshire connected. These latest updates ensure our bus network continues to adapt to the changing needs of our residents, particularly as new housing and employment developments expand across the county.  

“While we have had to make some difficult decisions to withdraw a small number of underused evening services and reduce the daytime frequency of several others, we are pleased to introduce new direct routes, improve hospital connectivity, and integrate developing areas into the wider network.  

“We encourage all passengers to check their local timetables ahead of the August bank holiday weekend." 

​A summary of the changes by area is provided below: 

​North Warwickshire 

Services 785/6 (Tamworth–Nuneaton): Operator will change to South Staffs Coaches (Mon–Sat) and Arriva Midlands (Sundays). All existing trips are maintained with some additional journeys added by South Staffs Coaches. 

Service 15 [Sundays] (Tamworth–Hurley): Renumbered to 76B and transferring to Arriva Midlands. Timetable remains largely unchanged, though the 08:05 from Tamworth and 08:23 return will no longer operate. 

Service 41 & New Service 41B: Following the diversion of Service 6 via Baddesley Ensor and George Eliot Hospital, Service 41 journeys are revised.  

A new Service 41B (Mon–Sat) will operate between Nuneaton and Kingsbury via Baxterley, Hurley, and Wood End. 

Service 19 (Nuneaton–Arley): An additional evening trip will depart Arley for Nuneaton at 18:53 (Mon–Sat). 

Service 762 (Atherstone): Minor timetable adjustments; trip numbers remain the same. 

Service 65A (Nuneaton–Kingsbury): Friday and Saturday evening services are withdrawn due to low passenger numbers. 

Nuneaton & Bedworth 

Service 56 (Coventry–Nuneaton): All Sunday journeys will now operate via George Eliot Hospital. 

Service 42: Withdrawn following the recent increase and diversion of Service 41 via George Eliot Hospital, which now covers these routes. 

Rugby 

Services 1, 2 & 9 (Coton Park): Routes in Coton Park East are shifting from Langlands Place, Sedge Road, and Betony Road to serve Snellsdale Road, Aster Drive, Chervil Way, Long Hassocks, Tuthill Furlong, and Crackthorne Drive. Timetables remain unchanged. 

Service 4 (Brownsover–Bilton): Monday to Saturday frequency will be adjusted from every 15 minutes to every 20 minutes. (Service 4A remains unchanged). 

Service 63 & 8B: Early morning timing adjustments to Service 63, with some journeys diverted via Overslade to merge with Service 8B operations. 

Service 2A (Long Lawford–Hillmorton): Monday to Saturday evening services are withdrawn due to low patronage. Evening service will continue for parts of Hillmorton on Service D1. 

Leamington & Warwick 

Services 15, 77 & 77A: Service 62 (Leamington–Myton Green) is withdrawn and replaced by Services 15, 77, and 77A operated by Stagecoach. These will run approximately every 30 minutes via Fusiliers Way (Myton Green) and William Freeman Way (Beauchamp Park) to Gaydon. The 15A and 15C designations are discontinued. 

Services 14 & 14A: Service 14 is diverted to serve William Freeman Way, continuing via Buckley Road, Crown Way, and Montrose Avenue to Cubbington. A few trips, numbered 14A, will operate via Valley Road and Parklands Avenue. 

Services 67A, 67B & 67C: 67B will see a revised timetable. 67A (alongside 14A) will now route via Buckley Road, Crown Way, Valley Road, and Parklands Avenue. Service 67C is withdrawn. 

Service X18A: Afternoon journeys are withdrawn (except for the 17:15 from Gaydon JLR to Leamington via Warwick). Morning services are unaffected. 

Service X17: Minor timing changes to improve reliability. 

Services 664/665: Operations will transfer from Stagecoach to A&M Group (Flexibus) with minimal timetable changes, barring a specific afternoon/morning diversion via Cubbington Village. 

Stratford 

Services 76/76A, 76B & 77: Routeing between Stratford and Kineton for 76/76A and 77 is being exchanged between 09:00 & 16:00 to better connect Wellesbourne to Banbury. Existing 77B journeys become 76B. Service 15A/15C trips via Kineton are renumbered to 77, and those via Warwick renumbered to 15. 

Service 19 (Town Service) & Park & Ride: Reduced to a 30-minute interval during the day. Early morning and afternoon Park & Ride trips to Bishopton Lane will be covered by Service X21. The Park & Ride service will close on Sundays between November and Easter (excluding special events). 

Service X20/X21: Certain X20 trips become X21 via Bishopton Lane. Routeings at Blythe Valley are adjusted to operate via Stroudley Road and Kineton Lane for specific early/late journeys. 

Service 247A (Redditch–Bidford): The 22:30 Friday/Saturday evening trip from Stratford and the 23:18 return are withdrawn due to low patronage. 

Service 28: Timetable revised to improve afternoon punctuality. 

Coventry 

New Service 27 (Starts Sunday, 30th August): A new direct service will operate from Coventry Pool Meadow Bus Station via London Road to SEGRO Park, replacing the majority of Service 13 extensions.
