Course Overview:
This course is designed for anyone who wants to develop their understanding of suicide prevention. To raise awareness of suicide and its impact, recognise the signs of suicide and introduce a model for suicide intervention, and explore how to connect, ask about suicide, and signpost someone to safety.
Learning Outcomes:
- Understand the prevalence and impact of suicide.
- Recognise signs that someone may be thinking about suicide
- Explore attitudes and reduce stigma
- Use a simple suicide-safety model to guide a conversation
- Know how to signpost someone to appropriate help
