Introducing further, more comprehensive waiting restrictions on Central Park Drive.

Scheme overview

Further to the recent introduction of short sections of double yellow lines in Central Park Drive, Rugby, it has been brought to our attention that the mixed-use nature of Central Park Drive still results in traffic issues within the road and parked vehicles restricting carriageway width and visibility.

While there is a school located on Central Park Drive, it is still a business/commercial/industrial park so as such it is not considered appropriate to prohibit HGV parking entirely, as these vehicles may well be displaced into other, less suitable nearby streets including residential. Therefore, we propose to introduce further, more comprehensive waiting restrictions in the area with the intention of managing where vehicles may park in order to minimise congestion and restrictions to carriageway width and visibility.

Parking is currently unrestricted in nearby streets. Given the reduced capacity proposed in Central Park Drive and the likely limited displacement of HGVS, sections of waiting restrictions are also proposed for Castle Mound Way, Coton Park Drive and Bryant Drive to prevent parking close to junctions, hazards and larger accesses in a way which obstruct visibility.
