Warwickshire County Council are proposing to make the above named Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to introduce R0 permit exemptions in the above street.
Regent Place lies within the Rugby town centre area of predominately commercial properties. Residents within the area are entitled to apply for R0 permits; there are no R0 exempt bays on street, instead, with these permit holders able to park in the nearby signed R1 bays.
At the northern end of Regent Place within the R0 zone, the road becomes more residential in nature. Short term surveys of parking availability vs occupancy, and longer term analysis of pay & display income, demonstrate that this section of Regent Place is generally relatively lightly used during the daytime in comparison with those directly outside commercial properties. Proposals are therefore to introduce R0 permit exemptions where capacity allows, which in turn should aid in reducing demand for spaces in nearby R1 permitted streets.
