A new service for people looking for mental health support has been launched in two locations in Warwickshire.
The Warwickshire Safe Havens, one in Nuneaton and one in Leamington Spa, offer a welcoming, safe, comfortable, non-judgmental and non-clinical environment. Their emphasis is on reducing immediate distress, and supporting visitors to access services and opportunities available to them in the wider community.
Mental health professionals will offer one-to-one support and can help create staying well and crisis plans for visitors. People who use the Safe Haven will also have access to a 24-hour telephone emotional support line staffed by trained counsellors.
The Safe Havens offer out of hours mental health support to anyone aged 16 or over. No appointment or referral is needed to visit a Safe Haven - people can walk in any time during opening hours - and carers and family members are welcome.
Nuneaton Safe Haven
Open 6pm-11pm, Thursday to Sunday.
Newtown Centre, Newtown Rd, Nuneaton CV11 4HG
Leamington Spa Safe Haven
Open 6pm-11pm, Monday to Wednesday.
