In Trading Standards Week 2018 (19th to 23rd November 2018) Warwickshire County Council’s Trading Standards Service will be highlighting the work it undertakes to protect consumers and support genuine businesses across the County.

Warwickshire County Councillor Andy Crump, Portfolio Holder for Community Safety said: “Trading Standards plays an important role across the county in protecting consumers from harm, whether they are buying a used car, shopping on the internet or eating from their local take-away. Officers carry out an equally important role to help create a fair and safe trading environment for local businesses in which to thrive.”

“During this week, not only will residents and businesses be able to find out more about the work of Trading Standards but will also learn how to access their services.”

Day 1: Doorstep crime and scams – protecting vulnerable people from rogue traders and fraudsters

Day 2: Safe food chain - protecting consumer health ‘from farm to fork’

Day 3: Product safety keeping consumers safe and raising awareness of unsafe goods

Day 4: Used car crime, preventing the sale of dangerous and unroadworthy vehicles

Day 5: Illegal tobacco, supporting Public Health’s goals to reduce smoking rates

On each day of the week long campaign, Warwickshire Trading Standards will focus upon a different aspect of Trading Standards work.
